Versatile Editor

“I turn what you wrote into what you meant!”

I’m not the kind of editor who stays in one lane. I’ll come in as your line editor, but when I see gaps, I roll up my sleeves and do what’s required. I’ll spot repetitions, omissions, and missing transitions. I’ll ferret out unintended sources of reader confusion. I’ll suggest helpful reader navigation aids like subheads, sidebars, or images. And I’ll “rototill” those rough patches into a smooth, natural flow—bringing the structure, order, and clarity you didn’t even know was needed.

My approach is unusually thorough and warmly supportive. Expect transparency, collaboration, and optional author tools tailored to your writing experience, tech comfort, and goals—plus help keeping revisions clear and organized. Authors tell me they learn a great deal about writing and clarity of expression ... and we have a lot of fun!

Editor Test Drive

Explore your manuscript. See if we click.

Unsure if your draft is ready for editing, or even what editing really involves? In this low-pressure, no-obligation test drive, I’ll review a section you choose, offering candid reader-level impressions plus practical, on-the-page editorial improvements. You won’t just hear what isn’t working—you’ll see how it could. It’s a safe first step to help you discover where in your process an editor might serve you best, whether you'd like a writing partner or just a final polish.

VA Onboarding Specialist

Build once. Train clearly. Delegate with confidence.

You dream of a VA to manage critical tasks the way you do, but all those hard-to-train decision points and nuances are in your head. Delegating feels daunting, because they might not even stay. That’s where I come in. My signature “stealth-mode learning” starts with recording your real-time decisions as you work. Then I roll up my sleeves to do the job myself—not forever, but just long enough to weave appropriate detail into clear, reusable SOPs, cheat sheets, if-then guides, and other error-proof tools. Finally, I train your VA in stages, from observing to guided practice to confidently flying solo.

“The spreadsheet is error-proof!”

Let me say ... You have a wonderful “bookside” manner.” You don’t show me “what you know” by finding as many problems as you can. You take your ego out it. Also, you reek of integrity.”

Richard Chisholm, author

"Your ability to articulate and be in a style that feels so representative of my truth, my speaking style, and desire to connect, moves me so much that I want to cry. How can someone say my thoughts better than me? You are a supernatural Vulcan mind-melding editing freak of a blessing!"

Robert Oppenlander, author of

Comfortably Unaware

“I wish my publishers would have allowed you to take one round of editing my new book a few months ago!"

“I am amazed and really tickled. I am so moved by the great difference ... in fact, moved to joyous tears that my book proposal looks so professional .... What skill you have.”

Dr. Doug Graham, author of The 80/10/10 Diet

Laurie will assuredly make your book the best that it possibly can be. She will communicate with you daily. It may take longer than you want, because Laurie may make suggestions that require a bit more effort on your part, but the finished product will be something that you will always be proud of and won’t want to redo later down the road.”
